Lift Foundation

This past weekend marked The LIFT Foundation’s 6th Annual White House to White House relay that brings awareness to the homeless and hunger crisis in Virginia. It was a cause that MSP Design Group was proud to sponsor and take part in.  From donating to the cause, participating in the event, as well as providing shirts for the team.

Our very own Maureen McDonnel participated in this effort, running her section of the over 200-mile relay. In so few words, she shared that “It was incredible! It meant the world to us to be a part of such a great cause.”

The foundation was started by Jim White on the boardwalk 12 years ago in Virginia Beach with some fitness classes that homeless people wanted to join.  It’s now helping thousands of homeless obtain shoes, as well as exercise and nutrition.

The relay lasts a grueling 36 hours, where 12 people took to the road and took turns running non-stop for over 200 miles and is designed to bring “a greater awareness to the homeless and hunger crisis in our nation.

This where The LIFT Foundation and the efforts of Jim White inspire us to help support their efforts as a sponsor. Its mission is to provide nutrition, wellness, and exercise programs for homeless, homeless veterans and others to help them get back on their feet and find employment.

Thanks to WAVY TV 10’s Andy Fox who shares Jim White’s story in more detail:

From its humble beginnings of one person offering some fitness classes at the ocean front, Jim White is now helping thousands of homeless people throughout Virginia with The LIFT Foundation.  Taking an opportunity and being inspired to maximize it to benefit others.

What inspires you?
